Following up on the success of their second single “Arcadia”, Earthmind’s third single “Energy” has been chosen as the opening theme to the TV anime Vividred Operation. “Energy” is an up-tempo rock tune that communicates the power of friendship.
Earthmind is a three-piece band consisting of vocalist Erina, guitarist Ommy, and Bassist Jun Takai. The band debuted in 2011 with their song “B-Bird”, which was suddenly chosen as the theme song to episode four of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The band then went on to perform for the first time at Budokan, and since then, have been basking in the limelight.
Vividred Operation takes place in the near future in a peaceful world where the energy crisis has been averted due to the Manifestation Engine, which provides energy from the sky. However, in an instant, everyday life comes crashing down with the arrival of a mysterious enemy known as the Alone. Akane lives on an island with her grandfather and sister, but when the Alone appears, she leaves her old life behind. Using a special suit that her grandfather invented called the Palette Suit, she joins forces with her friends and they begin their battle against the Alone. With an ensemble of extraordinary staff from popular anime such as Strike Witches, Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, and Macross F, this is a must-watch anime!
