SQUARE ENIX
Square Enix is the Japanese gaming studio best known for its series of role-playing games which have been published the world over to great acclaim.
The crowning glory in Square Enix’s crown is undoubtedly the Final Fantasy series of fantasy themed RPGs which includes 15 games in the main series as well as several spin-offs, platform re-releases and compilation games. Square Enix is also the publisher of the similarly themed Dragon Quest franchise as well as the Disney collaboration Kingdom Hearts which creates an exciting RPG world incorporating characters from the much-loved Disney universe.
Square Enix also owns the classic arcade game company Taito which created such well-loved games as Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble, and Bust-a-Move. In 2009, Square Enix also acquired the UK game studio Eidos merging with their European publishing wing to become Square Enix Europe. This includes such popular Eidos franchises as Tomb Raider, Hitman, Deus Ex, and Thief.
Square Enix also branched out into manga with their Gangan imprint which publishes the magazines Monthly Shonen Gangan, Monthly GFantasy, Young Gangan, Gangan Online, and Gangan Joker, and has launched such well-loved series as Fullmetal Alchemist, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Nabari no Ou, Inu x Boku SS, and Soul Eater.
