First released on the PlayStation 2 in 2002, Kingdom Hearts immediately captivated the hearts of its fans. It was created by Tetsuya Nomura and Shinji Hashimoto and then published through Square Enix. Each entry into the franchise tells a unique part of a common overarching story about a variety of beautifully written characters including Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Namine, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. Part of what makes Kingdom Hearts stand out, however, is the appearance of fan favorites from Disney and Square Enix titles including King Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck, Cloud Strife, and Squall Leonhart. The stunning character design was produced by Tetsuya Nomura, also known for his work on Final Fantasy.
