”They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these...these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.”
Perhaps the best known villain in the DC Comics universe, the Joker is often considered the mortal enemy of Batman or Bruce Wayne and was created by Jerry Robinson, Bill Finger, and Bob Kane. He lives in Gotham City and spends a great deal of time in Arkham Asylum.
Since his first appearance in 1940’s Batman #1, he has been depicted time and time again in comics, shows, and films such as The Killing Joke, Batman: The Animated Series, and The Dark Knight, and is often associated with his depictions by numerous talented actors including Troy Baker, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Jack Nicholson. More recently, he is often depicted alongside and associated with Harley Quinn.
Although he has many origin stories and interpretations, The Joker is well-known for being a chaotic character and remorseless serial killer. He frequently uses poisons on and tortures his victims due to lacking any superhuman abilities.
