Live Action Gintama Sequel to Premiere Aug. 17, 2018!

It's been announced that the live action Gintama film sequel will premiere on Aug. 17, 2018!

The first entry premiered on July 14, 2017 and starred Oguri Shun as Sakata Gintoki. The final count for box office revenue sat at around 3.84 billion yen, and the film also set a new opening record in China as a live action Japanese film.

So far, it's been confirmed that Oguri will be reprising his leading role for Gintama 2 (tentative title), with live action veteran director and screenwriter Fukuda Yuichi also to return. In addition, actor Satou Jirou will join the cast in an unannounced role.
