Pikotaro is getting his own anime, in which he’ll play all the characters himself and also sing the theme tune!
Pikotaro no Lullaby Lullaby is a three minute anime in which Pikotaro will retell some classic fairytales with his own unique flourishes. To complete the bedtime story effect, he’ll also be singing the ending theme which is inspired by traditional lullabies and retro anime songs. However, about halfway through the tone changes completely to introduce an attention grabbing modern beat.
Pikotaro no Lullaby Lullaby premieres on streaming service dTV on July 17 with television broadcast information expected to be announced at a later date. The official site is also running a diary update feature published each Wednesday featuring a behind the scenes look at the anime’s production.
