A trailer for the latest animated feature from When Marnie was There director Yonebayashi Hiromasa, Mary and the Witch’s Flower, has just been released. It showcases the movie’s main title theme, "Rain", performed by popular Japanese rock band Sekai no Owari.
After meeting with the movie’s director last year and watching some of the most important scenes, the band’s members got together to come up with a brand new song inspired by the world of Mary and the Witch’s Flower.
Starring well-known actors Sugisaki Hana and Kamiki Ryunosuke, Mary and the Witch’s Flower is the story of a young girl who comes across a mysterious magical flower in a wood which only blooms once every seven years. Granted magical powers for one night only, Mary travels to the magical university - Endor College and becomes embroiled in a fantastical adventure. The movie will be released in cinemas across Japan from July 8, 2017.
