2017 is turning into a very big year for prolific manga-ka Aoyama Gosho! His most popular series include fan-favorites like Magic Kaito, Yaiba, Yonban Third, and Detective Conan, and his list of achievements just grew as he steps into the 30th anniversary of his debut.
The newest issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday that went on sale on Apr. 26 announced that more than 200 million copies of his manga have been printed around the world! Commemorating this, Weekly Shonen Sunday subscribers are receiving specially illustrated Aoyama Gosho All-Star playing cards.
Other Weekly Shonen Sunday manga-ka submitted commemorative illustrations for the occasion, too!
There was also a reveal that Magic Kaito, Gosho’s debut manga, will be making its first appearance with new chapters after a 3-year hiatus! The latest Detective Conan film Detective Conan: Kara Kurenai no Love Letter has been receiving praise, as well, and was also the fastest film in the franchise to bring in 2 million moviegoers.
