Weekly Shonen Jump has no shortage of genius characters, but who is the smartest of them all? Here's the ranking...
Third place belongs to none other than Yagami Light, a.k.a. Kira! Although he managed to outsmart L, his plans for cleansing the world were thwarted by L’s “contingency plan” Near and Mello. Could it have turned out differently if he wasn’t so blinded by power and his vision? We’ll never know.
Following closely behind is Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom, who, besides being ridiculously powerful, also has an eidetic memory and can also teach almost all subjects by himself. Oh, and by the way, he’s a master assassin formerly known as the God of Death.
L, the world’s greatest detective from Death Note! Although he didn’t get to see Kira brought to justice, his suspicions were right from the start.
Here are the rest of the top 10...
Top 10
1. L from Death Note (454 votes)
2. Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom (430)
3. Yagami Light from Death Note (417)
4. Nara Shikamaru from **Naruto (244)
5. Bulma from Dragon Ball (241)
6. Norimaki Senbei from Dr. Slump (221)
7. Ryotsu Kankichi from Kochikame (204)
8. Akashi Seijuro from Kuroko’s Basketball (142)
9 -10. Saiki Kusuke from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. / Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho (122 votes each)
It was interesting to see two Death Note characters in the top 3, but then again, the story is about the clash of geniuses.
Seeing Shikamaru on the list is not really surprising, but two of Toriyama Akira’s characters made it to the top 10, which is quite a feat. And there’s the nostalgia of Yu Yu Hakusho, too…
