Action-packed fantasy series Overlord is back with its 2nd anime season! The big announcement was made after a Mar. 11 screening of Shikkoku no Eiyu ( The Dark Hero ), its 2nd compilation film.
Based on a light novel series of the same name by Maruyama Kugane, Overlord tells the tale of a young man who is nothing but a lonely gamer in the real world, but in the virtual world, transforms into a terrifying skeleton to reign as the most powerful wizard in the game.
Overlord’s 1st season aired from Jul. 2015, with its 1st compilation film, Fushisha no Ou ( The Undead King ) hitting theaters earlier this year.
And as if the new season wasn’t thrilling enough news for fans, Overlord has also brought to us a collaboration with Machi★Asobi Cafe in Tokyo and Kyushu to celebrate the release of Shikkoku no Eiyu! For those who are getting eaten up by all the anticipation, why not head over and get a taste of some delicious Overlord dishes?
