Attack on Titan Season 2 Airs April 1!

New details have been released about season 2 of Shingeki no Kyojin ( Attack on Titan )! It will air on 21 stations including Tokyo MX beginning on April 1. Linked Horizon will once again be performing the opening, and a new key visual was also released.

Shingeki no Kyojin season 2 will air at 10:00 pm on April 1 on Tokyo MX. If you happen to miss it, it’ll air on Tokyo MX again the following day at 11:30 pm, as well.

Linked Horizon performed the opening theme again, as well, following their themes “Guren no Yumiya” and “Jiyuu no Tsubasa,” and after getting to make an appearance at the annual New Year’s Kohaku contest, they’ll probably catch attention worldwide again with this theme, too.

The main cast, including Eren Yeager, also appeared in a new key visual. You can practically hear their battle cries in the image!

Shingeki no Kyojin is based on the original manga of the same name by Isayama Hajime serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. The first season aired in 2013, followed by a highlights compilation film in ‘14 and a sequel in ‘15.

The main staff is being brought back for season 2. Araki Tetsuro of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is working as general director, and Koizuka Masashi, who worked as assistant director on the last season, is taking the reigns as director. Kobayashi Yasuko and Asano Kyoji are returning as screenwriter and character designer, respectively. Blu-rays and a DVD box set for the last season will be released on March 15 for ¥35,000 (tax included).
