JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Releases Live Action Teaser!

Miike Takashi’s live action adaptation JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable will be released in Japanese cinemas from August 4, 2017 but you can get an early look right now with the latest trailer which has been released alongside a new visual featuring Yamazaki Kento as Higashikata Josuke.

The trailer begins with a peaceful scene of European-style red grooves and a gentle, relaxed atmosphere which is abruptly disrupted when the protagonist, Higashikata Josuke, suddenly appears. You can tell from Yamazaki Kento’s fearsome expression as he strides through the streets in Josuke’s iconic school uniform that this is going to be anything but a “nice” story.

There are also a few other hints you can find in the trailer if you’re really paying attention including a “no entry” sign, a mysterious mansion behind an iron gate, the newspaper headline “No leads in family massacre case” and the trailer’s final tagline “there’s something weird about this town”.

The new poster released alongside the trailer features Yamazaki as Josuke against a glittering background with the movie’s logo underneath. Josuke may look like a tough guy but deep down he’s all heart and his stand, Crazy Diamond, has the special ability of healing both people and things. According to the tagline on the poster, the time has come for him to use his Stand but you’ll have to wait until the movie’s released to see just how he does it.
