Otomo Keishi’s live-action adaptation of March Comes in like a Lion premieres in 2017, with the first movie releasing on March 18 and the second on April 22.
Earlier this week, a still frame of the actors Kamiki Ryunosuke and Takahashi Issei was released, showing them in-character as Kiriyama Rei and Hayashida Takashi. The shot takes place with student and teacher on a familiar rooftop during lunchtime, with Kiriyama clutching a book and Hayashida gripping a cup of ramen noodles.

The shot confirms fans will be treated to heart-warming and meaningful scenes where Hayashida, as a teacher that cares deeply about the wellbeing of his student, offers much-needed advice to Kiriyama, who often needs guidance from a (sometimes) mature authoritative figure. Despite Hayashida’s concern with Kiriyama’s often troubling attitude, he is someone who can always be relied on to offer a wise word and an open ear.
