Pre-orders for the Mobile Suit Gundam Char Fountain Pen (¥23,760; tax included, shipping and handling separate) opened on Jan. 31 on the Sun-Star Stationery Store on Premium Bandai! This pen was developed in collaboration with the writing goods manufacturing company Platinum Pen Co., Ltd.
■ About the Pen
This special fountain pen was developed by the writing goods manufacturing company Platinum Pen based on the Red Comet Char Aznable of Mobile Suit Gundam. With over 100 years of history behind them, all of Platinum Pen’s skills have been poured into this item.
The pen was molded in a deep red resin based on Char Aznable’s nickname Red Comet. Glass-based pigments have been mixed into the resin, creating particles that sparkle in the light. Char’s personal emblem appears around the base in a radiant gold, giving the impression of this being his very own pen.
The reverse side of the cap features Char Aznable’s signature. The brass-made ring features an etched design based on his rank insignia.
The 14K pen nib features the Zeon emblem, and it produces small, fine handwriting that’s ideal for everyday use like notes, journals, letters, and resumes.
The pen also comes with a blotter card that blocks the ink from getting on your hand or other sheets, as well as a practical black ink cartridge so you can begin using it as soon as you get it. Char’s personal emblem that appears in gold on both the pen and ink cartridge can also be found on the dedicated case.
