Starting April 7, Japan will temporarily be home to the first Marvel exhibition to take place in the country! Titled “Marvel: Age of Heroes Exhibition,” this event will last until June 25 at the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower in Tokyo.
For a bit of background, Marvel is an American publishing company created in 1939. At the time, the state of the country and the world heavily influenced the themes of the comics and characters released (which can still be said today). A lot of time has passed between then and now, but Marvel is now a company with fans all around the world, largely due to hit films like The Avengers and Iron Man. Having released works that have become instant blockbusters both domestically and globally, it’s only natural that they experienced quick popularity and success in Japan as well!
At this exhibit, Marvel will display an impressive amount of precious documents, costumes, props, and more - over 200 pieces in total from various points in time! While the company has an endless amount of series, “Age of Heroes” will focus specifically on popular works such as The Avengers and Spider-Man.
For those who have already vowed to free your weekends for the onslaught of Marvel movies releasing this year, come get a thorough introduction into the world of Marvel! You’ll have a chance to learn about the company, its humble beginnings, and its dazzling success while enjoying a gorgeous Tokyo city view from the 52nd floor of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower and its viewing platform.
Visiting this exhibition, you’ll likely become even more hyped for upcoming Marvel movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok!
