5pb. Inc is a fan-favorite video game developer best known for titles such as Steins;Gate and Plastic Memories, and it now looks like they’ll be heading a video game adaptation of the Re:Zero light novel series by Nagatsuki Tappei and Otsuka Shinichirou. The game will be titled Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu -Death or Kiss-.
Re:Zero started as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2012 and quickly became popular. It was acquired by Media Factory and began being printed in Jan. 2014. According to LN News, the series had an incredible 1 million copies printed as of June 2016 and is one of the best-selling light novel series in Japan. It went on to receive a manga adaptation and also has a currently airing anime adaptation which is also streaming on Crunchyroll as Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-.
