With Char and Sayla’s saga coming to a close in the film Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin IV: Fateful Eve, set for release in the fall of 2016, the “Yoshikazu Yasuhiko x Noritake Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Char and Sayla Memorial Plate” was released on the official Bandai shopping site Premium Bandai on May 23, 2016. It features an illustration by the director of the film and writer and illustrator of the manga, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and is produced by tableware manufacturer Noritake.

■ About the Plate
Themed around Char and Sayla’s growth in the films Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I-IV, the Gundam legend Yoshikazu Yasuhiko illustrated this piece that was then produced by tableware manufacturer Noritake.
On the front you’ll find Char and Sayla, as well as the Deikun and Mass houses. Nine characters present throughout their growth are illustrated around them. On the back you’ll find the Autonomous Republic of Zeon, watching the brother and sister from the shadows, and in the center is none other than the head of the family, Degwin Sodo Zabi. Little details like Zenna Mia (later Zenna Zabi) and a grown up Char Aznable appearing in the background add to the depth of the image, filling it with hints and qualities typical of the talented Yasuhiko.
The gorgeous illustrations were applied using Noritake’s original printing technique. It’s also made with beautiful white bone china and features a 24-karat gold edge. The technique also prevents fading, so you can enjoy this piece as a part of your Gundam collection forever!
