AnimeJapan 2017 Bigger Than Ever with Larger Main Area & 2 Business Area Days, Plus Family Anime Festa Gets Its Own Space!

The AnimeJapan Organization will be holding both AnimeJapan 2017 and Family Anime Festa 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight in March 2017.

AnimeJapan 2017 will be following the massive success of AnimeJapan 2016 (135,323 recorded attendees, 149 company exhibits in the Main Area and another 43 in the Business Area). East Halls 1-7 will be used as the main area for exhibits (30% larger than 2016’s Main Area), and the Business Area will be open for two weekdays, guaranteeing that this will be an even grander event than last year’s. The Family Anime Festa 2017 will also receive its own area at AnimeJapan in East Hall 8, a change from 2016’s event (10,325 attendees).

As of Oct. 3, exhibitor applications are open for AnimeJapan 2017 as well as Family Anime Festa 2017.

Japan’s biggest businesses, groups, and content-makers in the anime industry will be brought together for AnimeJapan 2017 and Family Anime Festa 2017.

AnimeJapan 2017 Exhibit Details
Just like last year, AnimeJapan 2017 will have a Main Area, Creation Area, and Business Area.

▼Main Area (East Exhibit Building Halls 1-7) Details
The Main Area will host exhibit booths for Japan’s top businesses and groups related to the anime industry. A wide variety of stage events and displays are being planned which are sure to please visitors from all over the world, surpassing even AnimeJapan 2016.

A number of entertaining events are also being planned that will allow visitors to enjoy anime in a variety of ways in the main hall (East Exhibit Building Halls 1-7).

・RGB Stage: Admission to this stage will be based on applications, and it will feature news, talk events, live shows, and other events for the newest anime.
*Entry to these stage events will be based on a lottery system done in advance.*

・Open Stage: This stage will host a variety of events, as well as talk events and other performances related to new anime, and it will be open to everyone.
*Seats in the front will be based on lottery and invitation.*

・Food Park: The Food Park will be making another appearance following a positive reception at AnimeJapan 2016. Come enjoy the warm and delicious menu.

・Cosplayer World: This is the official space for cosplayers and cosplay lovers from all over.

・Official Goods (Collaborative goods made with traditional arts & AJ Gacha): In addition to presenting a number of suggested premium collaborations between anime and the classic traditional crafts of Japan, you’ll be able to try out the Gacha Gacha machines for AnimeJapan-exclusive metal badges featuring the most popular and newest anime.

・Anime Collaboration Exhibit Plan: In addition to showing off planned premium collaborations between anime and businesses, there will also be a display for previously shown collaborations which have been produced.

▼Creation Area (in Main Area) Details
The Creation Area will be making another appearance in the Main Area following a popular appearance at AnimeJapan 2016. It will feature a seminar stage where you can see creator lectures and business seminars, as well as exhibits where you can experience the glamorous and wonderful parts of working on anime.

・Seminar Stage: At this stage you can see creator workshops through which you’ll hear lectures and get advice from the leading industry creators, as well as a business seminar which is great not only for people attending on business, but general audiences.

・Production Works Gallery: The glamour and most incredible parts of working on an anime will be on display in the form of a gallery. Experiencing the fun side of this industry will make you want to become a part of it.

▼Business Area (Meeting Building 1F Reception Hall) Details
A Business Area will be set up in the Meeting Building 1F Reception Hall for anime-related business. This year it has been extended to cover two weekdays, offering more opportunities for business between attendees and exhibitors. This area has grown since AnimeJapan 2016 with the goal of satisfying industry attendees from Japan, as well as international visitors.

・Anime Business Concierge: Those new to animation-related businesses will be able to get support or have questions answered.

・Business Seminars: Anime-related seminars and business-related events will be held here. This will be an excellent opportunity for not only visitors at the convention on business, but also general attendees.

Family Anime Festa 2017 Details
Both children in elementary school or younger and their guardians can enter for free. Just like last time, this will be a family-only area with a restricted entrance so everyone can rest easy. The event was previously held together with AnimeJapan, but this year it will have its own space in East Hall 8.

■ Corner Stage
**・Play Corner:** This unique corner at Family Anime Festa is perfect for taking pictures and getting a chance to move around.

・Family Food Park: This spot will offer a delicious menu geared toward families. A space for families to relax and kick off their shoes will be making another appearance, as well, after being popular last time.

・Kids Workshop Corner: Visitors will be able to see how goods for popular series are made, as well as how anime is made.

・Family Stage: This charming stage will feature a number of shows for popular anime which children and families are sure to enjoy including character shows.
