Released on April 30 to coincide with Children's Day in Japan, Bandai's Candy Division have created a new addition to their Tabemas series of edible mascots - it's everyone's favourite robotic cat, Doraemon! If you're lucky enough to be in Japan while these sweets are on sale, simply pop into any Aeon Mall (excluding Okinawa) and head on over to the wagashi candy corner!

**What exactly is Tabemas?**
Short for Taberareru Mascot, meaning "edible mascot," Tabemas is a series of wagashi (traditional Japanese confectionery) which look just like your favourite characters! These tasty treats are actually a special type of wagashi called nerikiri - a blend of bean paste, sugar, and mochi - which is perfect for creating the unique features of each character. As well as enjoying the deliciousness of these special sweets, you can also marvel at their incredible craftsmanship. The only problem is, you might find that they're so cute you just can't bring yourself to eat them!
Tabemas Doraemon
This adorable lineup features two varieties: Doraemon (with custard-flavour sweet bean paste filling) and Doraemon's secret gadget, Mini-Dora (with milk-flavour sweet bean paste filling).
As you might expect from a series called "edible mascots," these cute sweets look just like Doraemon and Mini-Dora, with every detail from their bells to their 4D pockets recreated to stunning perfection. The delicately creamy taste of these wagashi with their custard and milk flavour fillings is sure to win you over.
