Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures have revealed a first look at Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of Ghost in the Shell protagonist Major Motoko Kusanagi. This adaptation of the popular manga and anime series is currently filming in New Zealand and will be released in Spring 2017.
More cast members have also been added to the production including Juliette Binoche (Godzilla 2014) as Dr. Ouelet, and Kaori Momoi (Helter Skelter, Memoirs of a Geisha). Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo have also been added as additional cast for Section 9 task force members. The main cast for the movie features:
