As part of the PR activities leading up to this summer`s Pokemon movie, the first ever Pokemon Elections have been announced in which 720 Pokemon will be pitted against one another in the biggest popularity contest this year! Results will be announced later this year but we can`t wait, so we first scouted out Japanese netizen`s Pokemon of choice!

Surprised by Mewtwo in the top spot? In addition to being a potentially strong party member, Mewtwo has also had several appearances in the anime and was the main antagonist in Pokémon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, and as one of the only ones that speaks, it’s pretty awesome and unforgettable!
There may be plenty of interpretations of what makes a Pokémon “cool”, but it would be hard to say no to a trade for any of these! Are there any others you thought should’ve been on the list?
