A Dream Interleague of Manga x Anime - “Ace of Diamond” Key Art Exhibit Coming to Osaka

It has been confirmed that “Ace of Diamond Key Art Exhibit: Manga x Anime Dream Interleague” will be coming to the Osaka Nanko Port ATC area. The exhibit will convey the charms of the series, with a focus on displays of key artwork. It will be held over a 6-day period during weekends leading up to spring: Feb. 27–28, March 5–6, and March 12–13.

Ace of Diamond is a manga by Yuji Terajima about high school baseball that has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2006. Part 2 also began serialization in 2015, and the series is a hit with over 20 million copies sold. The series also has a well-received TV anime adaptation that began broadcasting in 2013, and its stage adaptations are popular as well.

Ace of Diamond is set at the Koshien Stadium, and this coupled with the fact that Osaka is also host to the spring Japan National High School Baseball Tournament makes the exhibit’s setting in Osaka perfect. It’s sure to become a hot topic.

The exhibit will largely feature key artwork that was displayed last year during the Tokyo International Manga Anime Fair 2015. These will be reorganized and there will also be production materials from the anime included as well. There will be a manga area where visitors can look back on the story from the point of view of main character Eijun Sawamura, and the highlight here will be over 100 pieces of artwork drawn by author Yuji Terajima including the front cover illustrations to every volume of the manga, the latest color illustrations, and more. In the anime production area, stills of famous scenes and production materials will be on display.

General tickets and tickets that come with bonus items are both on sale. The bonus items are a ticket holder with the Seido logo and a muffler towel featuring exclusively drawn chibi artwork. Goods commemorating the exhibit will also be sold at the venue.
