[J-Fashion] My Enchanted Closet: Sophisticated New Japanese Style by OLIVE des OLIVE!

Welcome back to our Japanese fashion blog! Today we're excited to share new photos and info from OLIVE des OLIVE. Women throughout Japan rely on this brand to fill their closets with cute yet elegant and grown-up style.

The title of their Autumn/Winter 2015 fashion exhibition was My Enchanted Closet. We thought this phrase beautifully evokes the enchanted feeling of excitement that comes when you find just the right outfit hidden in your closet. Put that outfit on, and your day instantly gets a little brighter! It's also a reference to how such perfect outfits have an almost magical ability to make you feel prettier and more sophisticated.

Effortless, comfortable, casually polished looks were on display throughout the OLIVE des OLIVE exhibition. One style choice we saw with particular frequency was subtly girly, frilly elements being shown in combination with tougher, more understated pieces.

This outfit is a great example: a boxy, slightly oversized jacket with sparkly jewels on the front pockets, worn over an airy, angelic, and rather summery-looking white dress.

The outfit that greeted us at the exhibition entrance also brought together elements of disparate styles in an interesting and unexpected--yet still cohesive--look. The camo pattern skirt is made of tulle, a super popular material for midi skirts, albeit one that is usually seen in much sweeter-looking solid colors and pastels. The shirt's thin, dark stripes on a cream background help make it an excellent visual match for the dark leather jacket, which is softened by the presence of a sweatshirt-style hood.

Here we see a different sort of combination: clean, classic preppy style juxtaposed with a super-pretty embroidered blouse. Even the sleeves are encircled by strips of embroidery that look almost like bracelets or arm rings.

We absolutely loved the simple, flattering lines of these unpretentious yet charming overalls. You could pair them with a fancy-looking and feminine blouse, as seen in the gray jumper skirt pairing shown previously in this article. But you could also wear them with a fitted T-shirt, a fun tank top, an oversized sweater--there are so many possibilities, and no wrong answers!

More classic schoolgirl-inspired style. Again, depending on what you pair this with, it could read as cheerfully youthful or as elegant and mature.

We feel that the same could be said of these pretty ribbon-decorated heels, which come in an unusually rich, almost jewel-like dark blue.

All in all, OLIVE des OLIVE is ready to fill your closet with delightful surprises this fall! Naturally, TOM wants to do everything we can to help share the magic with you. Keep an eye out for more OLIVE des OLIVE-related news later this month... we might surprise you!
