Main Cast Confirmed: Juri Kimura to Star in ‘Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku’

The latest news has been announced for Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku, which has been confirmed to be getting a TV anime adaptation. Revealed this time is information on the cast and opening theme, and the main visual. The anime’s official site has also reopened, and momentum is picking up for the April broadcast.

Playing the main character of the series, Eruna Ichinomiya, is Juri Kimura who stars in the currently broadcasting anime Shirobako. Saori Onishi has been chosen for the role of Seisa Mikagura, granddaughter of the board chairman and the catalyst for Eruna transferring into Mikagura Academy, and Ari Ozawa has been chosen for the role of Otone Fujishiro, a student in the same year as Eruna. Additional cast members include Ayaka Suwa as Himi Yasaka, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shigure Ninomiya, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Bimmy. Character introduction pages have opened on the official site, allowing fans to check the details of each character.

The confirmed opening theme is “Hokago Kakumei,” a new song by popular Vocaloid producer and series creator, Last Note. The song is a character song sung by three cast members who make up the unit Hokago Rakuen-bu: Juri Kimura, Saori Onishi, and Ari Ozawa. The release date for the song’s single has previously been confirmed as April 22. The coupling song will be “Hokago Stride,” a song said to be the starting point of the series, rearranged by composer Tom-H@ck. The single will cost 1,200 yen (plus tax).

Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku is the culmination of a music series by Last Note. The first part of the project, “Hokago Stride,” has amassed huge popularity on Niconico Douga, with over 12 million views. The original light novel series is published under MF Bunko J, and a manga version has also been published as a MF Comic Gene series. The series is a multimedia project that is gaining attention.

Directing the anime adaptation is Taro Iwasaki of One Week Friends. The series composer is Masahiro Yokotani, the character designer/chief animation director is Manamu Amasaki, and the animation is being produced by Dogakobo.
