Idol Manga ‘Million Doll’ TV Anime Greenlit for July 2015

A TV anime adaptation has been confirmed for the popular web manga Million Doll. The broadcast will begin this July and span 12 episodes. Announced along with this is information about the staff and limited performances by the cast to be held.

Million Doll is an idol manga currently serializing on Ganma!, Comic Smart’s manga distribution service. Themed around idols, the series expresses the realities of the idol world,
from the unique perspective of supporting fans to the inner workings of management.

Series author Ai is said to be an otaku idol herself. It seems we will be able to enjoy a realistic depiction of idols that offers a different take than what has been shown in idol anime to date. Along with the broadcast announcement, the anime’s official site and Twitter page have launched.

Directing the anime is Keiichiro Kawaguchi, who also directed Zettai Karen Children and Jinsei. The scriptwriter is Momoko Murakami, and producing the animation is Asahi Production.

Public performances by the anime’s cast members that will run concurrent with the anime project have also been confirmed. These will be held for a limited time from July to September at the Akiba Cultures Theater. They will be a wonderful chance to be able to enjoy the charms of Million Doll in the real world.
