It has been confirmed that the TV anime Blood Blockade Battlefront will broadcast from this April on MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS11. Also, respective roles have been confirmed for the fourth round of cast members: Amaru Miyano, Keiji Fujiwara, and Hikaru Midorikawa. Until now, all that was reported was that they were on the cast. Artwork of the previously announced characters Abrahms, played by Akio Otsuka, and Patrick, played by Unsho Ishizuka, have also been released.
Blood Blockade Battlefront is a violent action manga created by Yasuhiro Nightow, author of Trigun. It’s described as a “manga in which strikes are thrown after calling out techniques” and began serialization in Jump SQ in 2009. It is still in serialization in Jump SQ today.
The cast members announced this time are Amaru Miyano playing Doug Hammer, Keiji Fujiwara playing Deldro Brody, and Hikaru Midorikawa playing Zed O’Brien. In the original work, Doug Hammer and Deldro Brody share a deep connection and are inseperable. It will be interesting to see how they are portrayed in the anime.
Miyano and Fujiwara have played mutual enemies in another series, and this will raise excitement all the more for being able to enjoying this dynamic together with the anime. Zed O’Brien played by Hikaru Midorikawa is half-man, half-fish and has a polite demeanor. It seems the series’ world is becoming more and more interesting.
In other news, the release of Klaus and Zap figures has been confirmed. These will be the first figures for the series, and are being supervised by Yasuhiro Nightow. They will be released on July 25, and we can expect even more figures to come. Keep it here for more details on the series to come.
