It has been confirmed that the event will be broadcast on Niconico Live. Taking the stage at the event will be author Yasuhiro Nightow, producer Yoshihiro Oyabu from Bones, producer Wakana Okamura from Toho, and Jump Square editor Shuntaro Kosuge. The MC will be Haruo Murata. The event will be held at Shinjuku Loft Plus One. Tickets went on sale Saturday, Jan. 17, but because of the series’ massive popularity, sold out the same day. Because of this, fans are sure to be happy about the Niconico Live broadcast.
Blood Blockade Battlefront began serialization in Jump Square in 2009. The series was created by Yasuhiro Nightow, who was in charge of the comic version of the game Samurai Spirits and also created Trigun, a series popular the world over. Nine volumes have been published to date, and it was also distributed on Shueisha’s webcomic site, Vomic.
Directing the TV anime is Rie Matsumoto, series director and composer of Kyosogiga. Writing the anime is Kazunao Furuya, who primarily writes drama stories and was the main writer on such series as Liar Game, 81diver, and Ninkyo Helper. In charge of character designs is Toshihiro Kawamoto of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory and Cowboy Bebop. Producing the animation is Bones. It has also been confirmed that the series will light up the stage at AnimeJapan 2015.
The Niconico Live broadcast of the event to be held at Shinjuku Loft Plus One will be at 20:00 on Sunday, Feb. 15. This will likely be exciting due to the series being so highly anticipated. Keep it here for a follow-up report.
