The 11th Umi Festa Kyoto began on July 19 in Maizuru, a city in Kyoto that overlooks the Sea of Japan. At the event, which conveys the charms of Kyoto, a Pokémon-related event is also taking place. The event focuses on the popular characters from Pokémon.

Attracting eyes inside the venue is a gigantic, fluffy 9-meter-tall Pikachu. A program called the Pokemon Smile School is also set up at which visitors can learn about daily customs and manners together with Pikachu.

The gigantic, fluffy Pikachu will be at the Maizuru Brick Park until Aug. 3. The Pokemon Smile School will be open in the Maizuru East Multipurpose Room 2 until Aug. 2. There are also sunvisors available as presents at Maizuru Brick Park, so keep this in mind.

The familiar Pokémon Stamp Rally course sponsored by the West Japan Railway Company has also been renewed. The stamp rally ends at the Nishi-Maizuru Station, the venue of the Sea Festa. The goal is to collect two stamps from Fukuchiyama Station, KTR Miyazu Station, KTR Amanohashidate Station, or KTR Amino Station and return them to Nishi-Maizuru Station. Those who complete the stamp rally can win great prizes including a West Japan Railway Company original Pokémon desk mat (until Aug. 31). There are tons for kids and adults to enjoy, so give Umi Festa Kyoto a go.
