The newest movie in the popular series Tiger & Bunny, Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, will be released countrywide in Japan on Feb. 8, 2014. The movie is also the newest work in the talked-about anime that depicts unique heroes who protect the city while acting as walking billboards for different companies. The Rising will depict an entirely new story that takes place after the TV series. Because of that, the movie is picking up huge attention from fans. Also being talked about are new characters being introduced for the first time within the new story. One of these is Golden Ryan who is being voiced by Yuichi Nakamura.
Golden Ryan is being backed by the long-standing health device manufacturer Tanita which is sponsoring the hero. The company will also have their logo placed on the character in the movie. Since the beginning of the series, attention has been drawn to actual companies being introduced in the series. The heroes wear company logos on their bodies as advertisements, and these happen to be logos of actual companies. This unique experiment links advertisements within the series and real-world advertisements.
With the introduction of a new hero comes a new sponsor as well. The details on Golden Ryan are still unknown, but because his is Barnaby Brooks Jr.’s new partner, there is no doubt he will play a huge role in the movie. Regarding Tanita being the sponsor of this new hero, the company is aiming to attain a younger brand image. We’d like to see the success of not only Golden Ryan but the sponsor Tanita as well.
The tie-up between Tanita and The Rising doesn’t just stop there, though. A health device related to the movie will also go on sale. That device is a body composition meter themed after Tiger & Bunny called “Inner Scan Voice BC-202-TB.” The device is a premium model that has a voiced navigation function that includes the voices of Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu) and Masakazu Morita (Barnaby). The world of the series is recreated through the dialogue of these two. Also, the device and box both have a special design to match the movie. In addition to body weight, this high-grade device can measure body fat percentage, BMI, muscle volume, fat level of internal organs, and BMR.
