Cho Ryu Append Fes 2013, a Music Festival for Internet-Based Artists, to Include Performances by Tomohisa Sakō, Jin (Shizen no Teki-P), Hachiouji-P, and Others

On Nov. 3, Sony Music Entertainment will hold Cho Ryu Append Fes 2013 at Shibuya-AX. The event is a spin-off of the popular “Append” segment of the show Cho Ryuha which is broadcast on TV Tokyo and other networks. The characteristic of the event is introducing and sharing information regarding artists who are active on the Internet. The aim of the event is to be a new kind of festival that gathers new generations of music.

Last year’s music market was dominated by Vocaloid songs created from the net scene that went on to become some of the most popular karaoke songs and ranked high on music charts. Special segments on this were even produced for TV shows, giving rise to a new culture. Beginning with Vocalo-P (Vocaloid producer) concerts, other events including popular dancers and DJs are gathering attention from many net users. This year’s Cho Ryu Append Fes will include performances and collaborations by 10 of the most popular singers, dancers, and creators among these. Those scheduled to perform on the day of the event are Ishiburo, GARNiDELiA, Keke(ヶ´∀`)×Machigerita, Tomohisa Sakō, Jin (Shizen no Teki-P), Dancing Dolls, Nanou, Hachiouji-P, Piko, and Yūkei Rampage. For fans, this lineup can be summed up in one word: extravagant.

Another draw of the event is that many of the performers are related to anime and other TV shows. For example, Tomohisa Sakō created the ending theme “Colorful World” to the anime Meganebu!, an anime titled Mekakucity Actors that is based on Jin’s (Shizen no Teki-P) own Kagerou Project is in the works, Hachiouji-P has offered such songs as “Fukayomi feat. Hatsune Miku” as the ending theme to the NHK program Shukan News Fukayomi, and Piko created the ending theme “Kotonoha” for the anime Katanagatari.

Asukyō will be the MC of the event. Asukyō is a popular dancer and is known as one of the twin sisters of the Dancing Dolls. Up until the day of the event, the performers will appear on the Nico Nico Live show Asukyō's Road to Cho Ryu Append Fes 2013. Ishiburo will be the guest on the next episode airing on Oct. 5. Tickets for the event cost 3,900 yen plus 500 yen for one drink and can be purchased on e-Plus.
