Attack on Titan prides itself on having a popularity that surpasses gender and country borders. Besides the original manga and the TV anime, there are also numerous related products that have received a lot of attention from fans.
One of these is the figure series “Brave-Act” that features realistic models of the main characters and will release in January 2014. Being that the characters in Attack on Titan are also quite popular, this is likely to stir a lot of attention as well.
The first in the “Brave-Act” series is Levi, the leader of the Survey Corps. He is rumored to be the strongest soldier of mankind, and he is crucial in the fight against the Titans. His comrades and fans both call him Captain. His degree of popularity becomes obvious from the fact that he was chosen to be the first in the series.
The figure is roughly 20 centimeters tall and ⅛ scale, and is modeled by Sentinel, a company that has produced many character figures. The 3D Maneuver Gear and the ultra-hard steel blades were designed with CG and replicated to the smallest details. The figure is of very high quality and costs ¥9,240 (tax included).
Animate began taking pre-orders for this figure on Sept. 27. There will also be an Animate limited edition version released called “Cleaning Captain Limited Edition”. In the regular version, Levi has a cool-headed but slightly gloomy expression and is holding his steel blades in an overbearing stance. By changing the hand parts (left and right) and the head, putting dusters in his hands and giving him a bandana, another side of the Captain appears. With this limited edition figure, fans can have fun with Captain Levi in more situations. It’s quality is just as high as that of the regular version. The next characters to be featured in this series have not yet been announced, so we are anxious to hear about the upcoming developments.
