The web anime Kyousogiga, a collaborative effort between Banpresto and Toei Animation that until now has only been distributed online, is becoming a TV anime series.
At Chara Hobby 2013 on Sept. 1, a presentation regarding the TV anime was held. Cast members Rie Kugimiya, Kenichi Suzumura, Chiwa Saitō, and Kazuki Yao gathered for the event and shared the latest news on the anime.
The first bit of information shared was the broadcast times. The anime will begin broadcasting on Tokyo MX at 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 2. Thereafter, it will begin broadcasting on BS Asahi at 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 4.
The opening and ending themes of the anime were also announced. Continuing their roles from the web anime, the opening theme is “Koko” by female vocalist Tamurapan, and the ending theme is “Shisso Ginga” by the rock band Teppan. Tamurapan also performed at the event to a pumped-up crowd.
Details on the anime were also discussed by producer Hiromi Seki. The TV anime will span ten 30-minute episodes, two recap episodes, and a special episode, for a total of 13 episodes. The first episode was also screened at the event, and it showed the beginnings of the story and relationship between the mysterious characters. It seems the TV anime will once again excite fans.
The project for Kyousogiga began in 2011. The anime received over 1 million views after it was uploaded to YouTube, Nico Nico Douga, and other sites. Rie Matsumoto, a young creator at Toei, directed the anime, which picked up attention for its impressive visuals. Matsumoto will be reprising his role as director for the TV anime as well as being the series composer. Another charm of the work is its popular voice cast, including Rie Kugimiya, which will also be coming back for the TV anime.
