Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova- Advance Screening Events to Be Held in Tokyo and Osaka

The TV anime Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-, set to begin broadcasting next month, has quickly become a hot topic. The original high-quality manga written by Ark Performance is currently serialized in Young King OURs, and the anime is being made in full CG by popular studio Sanjigen. In addition to the submarines and battleships, the main female characters who appear as “mental models” are also picking up attention. Voices of surprise have already been heard regarding the anime’s high quality from members of the media who already saw an advance screening.

Now, advance screenings for the public will finally be held on Sept. 21 and 22. The screenings will include the first three episodes of the anime. This is the chance for fans to check out the anime for themselves, and on the big screen no less. In addition to this, members of the cast will make guest performances and a discussion will be held. Cast members scheduled to attend are Kazuyuki Okitsu (Gunzō Chihaya), Mai Fuchigami (Iona), and Hibiku Yamamura (Haruna).

The event will be held at Cinemart Shinsaibashi in Osaka on Sept. 21 and Cinemart Shinjuku in Tokyo on Sept. 22. Tickets cost 2,800 yen (tax included). As a free gift, those who attend will be given three random original postcards (five kinds total). The pre-reserve period for tickets has ended, and general tickets are currently being sold. More information on this can be found on the anime’s official site.

Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova- takes place in 2039. Due to global warming and suddenly rising sea levels, humanity has lost much of the Earth’s landmass. In the midst of this, mysterious battleships called the “Fleet of Fog” appear all over the world and begin attacking humans with devastating weaponry. Military cadet Gunzō Chihaya then meets Iona, the mental model of the submarine I-401. What will this meeting with the enemy ship I-401 mean for humanity?
