The TV anime The Eccentric Family will come to a close on Sept. 29. In celebration of the finale, an advance screening of the final episode and an all night screening of the entire series will be held on Sept. 28, the day before the finale airs on TV. Fans will be able to enjoy all 13 episodes of the anime on the big screen at Toho Cinemas Roppongi in Tokyo. There will also be a discussion with the anime’s staff and cast.
Appearing from the cast will be Mai Nakahara (Yashirō Shimogamo) and Ayane Sakura (Kaisei Ebisugawa). Appearing from the staff will be series creator Tomihiko Morimi, director Masayuki Yoshihara, producer Kenji Horikawa, and scriptwriter Shōtarō Suga. The cast discussion will be held before the screening of the final episode, and the staff discussion will be held after. Each group will likely talk about the series from their own points of view. Those who attend this event will be given an exclusively drawn clear file folder. The illustration depicts an autumn-like scene with red leaves.
Tickets for the event cost 3,500 yen (tax included) and are being sold through Toho Cinema’s online ticketing site. If tickets don’t sell out, they will also be sold on the day of the event at Toho Cinemas Roppongi.
Syncing up with the broadcast of the final episode on Bandai Channel on Sept. 29, a special program will first be shown that will include performances and discussions from the six members of the cast and staff who will attend the screening event.
In related news, on Sept. 25, the first volume Blu-ray and DVD of The Eccentric Family will be released. This will include a drama CD and video footage from a premiere event held at Minami-za in Kyoto. In addition to these will be cast and staff commentary, a booklet, and more. The Blu-ray will cost 5,040 yen and the DVD will cost 3,990 yen (both prices include tax).
