It has been decided that the original anime Galilei Donna will begin broadcasting on Oct. 10 as a part of the fall season lineup of Fuji TV’s anime programming block, noitaminA. The main staff working on the anime and a new visual have also been revealed.
Directing the anime is Yasuomi Umetsu who is also credited with creating the original concept. Other staff includes Shingo Adachi as the character designer and chief animation director; Hideyuki Kurata, Tōko Machida, Jun Kumagai, and Oka Atsushi as the scriptwriters; Niθ as the mechanical designer; and Yasumitsu Suetake, Takehiro Ishimoto, and Maho Takahashi are in charge of the art settings. Producing the anime is A-1 Pictures. Music for the anime is being handled by Shirō Hamaguchi, with Shōji Hata as the sound director.
Director Umetsu is known for his work on several action anime, including A Kite. Known even overseas, A Kite is now being adapted into a Hollywood movie. Galilei Donna is also gathering attention for it being the first time that Adachi will simultaneously fill the roles of character designer and chief animation director. Excitement also seems to be building due to the newly released visual. On the scriptwriting side, Kurata has a penchant for creating lively stories with young female characters, and the world of the anime is only made more solid with the help of Machida, Kumagai, and Atsushi.
The main characters of Galilei Donna are the three Ferrari sisters: Hazuki, Kazuki, and Hozuki. Hozuki is gifted in science, Kazuki is gifted in Kenpo, and Hazuki is gifted with a silver tongue. Each of these sisters has their own area of expertise that they use to fight against an imposing threat. On Sept. 19, a promotional video for the anime will be revealed, so fans have more to look forward to even before the anime begins.
Furthermore, fans will also be happy to know that there will be a special screening held before the start of the broadcast. The anime will be screened in advance on Sept. 27 during the event “noitaminA Fall Season Special Screening Premium 2 Days!” Samurai Flamenco, another new anime that will begin in October on noitaminA, will be screened during the same event on Sept. 28.
