Doraemon's Greatest Trick? Turning Theme Song Singer Hirai Ken into an Anime Character!

Doraemon the Movie 2017: Nobita's Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi opens across Japan in March, but ahead of that a very special collaborative CD jacket has been unveiled for the release of the movie’s theme song. Hirai Ken who performs the title track “Boku no Kokoro wo Tsukutte yo” has been transformed into an anime character, fully integrating himself into the world of Doraemon.

The upcoming movie is the 37th in the long-running series and features Doraemon, Nobita, and friends exploring the ruins of a lost city buried under the Antarctic ice. Hirai Ken has also had a long and successful career since his debut in 1995, achieving record sales of over 30 million, but this is his very first anime tie-in.

The CD jacket for the first press limited edition which comes with a bonus DVD features Hirai Ken sporting a multicoloured beard in a high-impact visual which mimics Doreamon himself! The jacket for the limited edition features all new illustrations of Hirai Ken’s character as well as Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, and Gian in the film’s Antarctic setting.

Hirai Ken’s character will also be appearing in a Doraemon TV anime episode due for broadcast on Feb. 24 at 7:00 pm! Hirai is known for his beautiful voice, but just how will he fare in the Doraemon world? Only time will tell!
