Production is advancing on the new stage project Nobunaga the Fool from Shoji Kawamori, who is known for such series as Macross. This original live show is gathering attention for being headed by such a big name director. Additional cast members have also been announced. The live voices of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Leonardo Da Vinci will be Yūki Kaji and Tomokazu Sugita, respectively.
Nobunaga the Fool is a sci-fi war story that focuses on Oda Nobunaga and includes famous historical figures from the Orient and the West. It was previously announced that Mamoru Miyano will voice Oda Nobunaga, Takahiro Sakurai will voice Akechi Mitsuhide, and Yōko Hikasa will voice Jeanne Kaguya d’Arc. This is a curious work with characters overflowing with personality. On top of this, a fantastic voice cast has been lined up, making this a work not to be missed.
Illustrations have also been revealed of the newly announced characters Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Leonardo Da Vinci. Several performances of Nobunaga the Fool are planned during its run from the end of this year to next summer. Other characters will also be announced at later dates, so fans can look forward to those announcements.
General auditions are currently being held for a portion of the cast of characters. These are being held not only due to director Kawamori’s wanting to give new talent a chance, but they also came about as an idea from the staff. They are looking for newcomer applicants who can both sing and act.
Currently, they are moving forward with judging for the roles of Cha Cha, Hatsu, and Gō. They have currently completed their second round of judging and those who have made it to the final round are doing self-promotion on the audition’s exclusive Twitter account. A part of the final judging will be seeing how they can appeal to fans through sharing their thoughts and what fascinates them.
Twelve finalists will move on to the final round of judging in which they will submit original songs and detailed character settings, as well as perform and sing as the respective characters they are auditioning for. Videos of each finalist are viewable on the official site in which they give comments about everything they have put into their auditions. Make sure to watch these in preparation for this highly anticipated stage show.
