Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, the second movie in the TV anime series Tiger & Bunny that was broadcast in 2011, will be released in nationwide in Japan on Feb. 8, 2014. Now, a special trailer, new visual, and information on the story has been revealed in rapid succession. Moreover, the introduction of a new hero called Golden Lion was revealed as well.
In the newly released visual, the person standing next to Barnaby Brooks Jr. isn’t his partner Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, it’s Golden Lion aka Lion Gold Smith. The visual effectively shows the creation of a new combination. Popular voice actor Yuichi Nakamura is in charge of Golden Lion’s voice. Because the popularity of the series rests largely on the uniqueness of the heroes, fans are no doubt curious to find out what kind of hero this new character will be.
Also livening up the work is Hiroaki Hirata as the voice of Kotetsu and Masakazu Morita as the voice of Barnaby. In addition to these characters, an illustration of Mark Snider, the new owner of Apollon Media, an organization to which the main characters are attached, has also been released.
Advance tickets for the movie went on sale on July 20. Tickets come with a “New Apollon Media ID Card Holder and Employee ID Card Set” as a free gift. General tickets cost 1,500 yen, while paired tickets cost 2,800 yen (both prices include tax).
Details on the story of Tiger & Bunny: The Rising have also been revealed. Although Wild Tiger aka Kaburagi T. Kotetsu and Barnaby Brooks Jr. decided to retire, they return as heroes in the second division league. Meanwhile, due to an incident, the ownerless Apollon Media welcomes the charismatic businessman Mark Snider who has his eyes set on reorganizing the company. As part of this plan, Snider reinstates Barnaby to the first division league. However, his partner is no longer Kotetsu, but rather a new hero who Snider has scouted named Golden Lion.
In addition to the new information announced regarding the movie, an event has also been decided on. On Oct. 12 at Makuhari Messe, the event “Tiger & Bunny: The Rising - Super Prelude” will be held. The full voice cast will be present at the event, including Hiroaki Hirata, Masakazu Morita, Minako Kotobuki, Taiten Kusunoki, Mariya Ise, Kenjiro Tsuda, Go Inoue, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Koji Yusa, and Yuichi Nakamura. There will also be a special live performance of the movie’s theme song after it is announced, a new video will be screened, and more. An advance pre-order raffle for the event also began on July 20. Tickets for the event cost 7,800 yen (tax included).
