“A Certain Scientific Railgun S” Episode 12 Recap: “Tree Diagram”

Up until now, her companion has been Academy City. Experiment –– Mikasa feels trapped in a sense of powerlessness while investigating the enormous “darkness” that is the “Level Six Shift Project.” However, even if she has to give everything she has, she must put a stop to the project. Mikoto finally decides to target the supercomputer “Tree Diagram” that has the largest collection of information in Academy City and makes calculations regarding the execution of the project. Meanwhile, Touma, who runs into “Biri Biri’s sister” who is trying to help a stray cat, is forced into helping as well ––.

After learning about a project in which countless of her clones are created and murdered, Mikoto has methodically taken out each facility involved in the project in order to stop it, but when she realizes the true extent of her enemy’s power, she becomes immersed in despair.
However, she once again resolves to stop to project at any cost, and she decides to target “Tree Diagram,” the supercomputer responsible for the experiment’s calculations, thinking that without it, the experiments would be unable to continue. After infiltrating “Tree Diagram,” Mikoto is once again faced with the cold truth.

Meanwhile, one of Mikoto’s clones nicknamed “Biri Biri’s sister” is trying to no avail to help a stray cat. The unfortunate young man Kamijo Touma happens upon her and is forced into helping her. They end up spending time together, and Touma stops at a bookstore to get a book on raising a cat. While inside the store, Biri Biri’s sister sees another clone getting ready for a scheduled battle with Accelerator, and, leaving the cat in front of the store, goes off to witness it.
