Vampire-themed dramatic stage reading title Mars Red is set to make the jump to TV anime in 2021!
Written and directed by legendary theatre practitioner Fujisawa Bun’o, the stage production also boasted promotional artwork by mangaka Karakara Kemuri. Like the stage show, the TV anime will be set in the Taisho era (1912 - 1926) during which the government has secretly deployed an anti-vampire task force known as “Code Zero”.
Fujisaku Junichi ( Ghost in the Shell S.A.C., Blood ) will provide scripts and series composition, while Takeuchi Yukari will handle character designs for the anime inspired by Karakara’s originals. Fujisawa will act as sound director with Muranaka Toshiyuki composing. IG Port’s Signal.MD will produce.
With the announcement of the anime, the franchise has launched a new fan club which promises membership cards with squad numbers, as well as various bonus gifts.
Mars Red's anime adaptation is scheduled to air in 2021.
