The second season of the TV anime Teekyu began broadcasting July 7 at 10:27 p.m. on Tokyo MX. It will also broadcast on the anime specialty channel AT-X and stream on Nico Nico Douga. It has been gathering much attention even as just the sequel to the short anime of fall 2012 that stole on-air chatter.
In addition to the familiar members, a new unique character named Kondou Udonko has been added to the second season. Kaori Ishihara, voice star of Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne is performing the new character. The cast for the second season is again a brilliant group of talent.
Kondou attends Kameido High School, the same school the main characters attend, as a first year student and member of the newspaper club. She is a character who seems to be normal at first glance, but as the story progresses, it seems a new dimension of her will be developed. Fans are looking forward to how Ishihara performs the character throughout the series.
Kondou will debut in the July 14 broadcast of the episode “We Were Soldiers with Senpai.” Also, for a limited time, select episodes from season 1 can be streamed for free on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube.
Furthermore, the TV anime Ketsuekigata-kun! collaborated with this work. During the last episode, Oshimoto Yuri and Takamiya Nasuno from Teekyu disguised themselves as Ketsuekigata-kun! characters and ran through 90 seconds of rapid dialogue.
Both works are also manga published by Earth Star Entertainment. The week after the last episode of Ketsuekigata-kun! aired, the second season of Teekyu began during the same time slot so fans could continue to enjoy Earth Star Entertainment works without a break. The fifth volume of the work will release on August 12, and fans have even more to enjoy and look forward to this year!
