Information on the main staff and cast for the anime adaptation of Unbreakable Machine-Doll, an original work by Reiji Kaito with illustrations by Ruroo, has been announced. It has also been announced that the anime will begin airing this fall.
The anime will be directed by Kinji Yoshimoto of Queen’s Blade: Exiled Warrior fame. Additional staff include Yuko Kakihara, who previously worked on Chihayafuru 2, as the series composer and Atsuko Watanabe, who created the opening video for Jewelpet Happiness, as character designer. The anime is being produced by Lerche, which is composed of staff who left other anime studios to become independent. Though the studio is still growing, they are receiving high praise from fans in regard to the carefulness that they use to make anime. They are gathering so much attention that they are being called the “next generation Kyoto Animation.”
Members of the anime’s cast include Hiro Shimono as the main character Akabane Raisin and Hitomi Harada as the heroine Yaya.
It’s also been decided that a special stage show for the anime will take place at Summer School Festival 2013, which will be held on July 28 in the Akihabara UDX building. In addition to a discussion among the cast of Unbreakable Machine-Doll, there will also be an advance screening of the anime. Attendance to this event will be chosen by lottery. More information on how to enter the lottery can be found on the official site for Summer School Festival 2013.
