Back After Such a Long Time?! “Yume Nikki” Web Manga Series Finally Starts

On May 20, a manga adaptation of the popular free game Yume Nikki began on MangaLifeWin. Right now, the first chapter, “The Dream Begins,” is available to read free of charge.

In Yume Nikki, released in 2004 as a free indie game, you play as a girl named “Madotsuki” and walk around a weird, grotesque dream world. For the web manga version, popular Nico Nico Douga artist Machigerita is handling the original outline while well known “Alien 9” manga artist Hitoshi Tomizawa is in charge of illustrations. In the original game, there was no story or ultimate goal, various interpretations were possible depending on the player. As expected, how this will be adapted into manga form is a point of interest.
