Fans of otaku culture may know of the star Shoko Nakagawa, also known by her fan-given pet name Shokotan. Now, she has teamed up with the select fashion brand BEAMS to produce the new fashion brand mmts.
On May 1, the mmts select shop opened on the third floor of Nakano Broadway in the paradise of otaku culture: Akihabara, Japan. One notable creation is the “Hitomi ni Shokotan” T-Shirt. At first glance it looks like a simple illustration of a cat; however, Shokotan’s face is reflected in the cat’s pupils. Such nonchalant features are quite fashionable. There are also bags and apparel printed with the shop’s logo.
