The new TV anime Mushibugyo began airing last month on TV Tokyo and other channels. The punk rock band GaGaGa SP is in charge of the anime’s opening theme song “Companions!,” which will be released on CD on May 22.
An image of the limited sleeve jacket that will be included as a bonus with the first print CDs has been released. The jacket features an original illustration drawn by series author Hiroshi Fukuda.
This collaboration came to fruition due to Fukuda being a big fan of GaGaGa SP. In addition to the main character Tsukishima Jinbee and heroine Oharu, the illustration features the four members of GaGaGa SP.
The illustration overflows with liveliness, and it can only be obtained as a bonus with the CD single. The limited edition of the CD will include a DVD with the music video for “Companions!”
GaGaGa SP formed in 1997 and had their major debut in 2002. They have since held various music festivals, and they continue to be energetically active in the music scene.
Mushibugyo is a samurai battle action story that follows the stubbornly straightforward main character Tsukishima Jinbee. He has the unshakable conviction to be a “warrior who continues to win until his last breath.” As such, his characteristic attribute is that he gets back up no matter how many times he falls.
