The anime Accel World and Sword Art Online have something in common: they are both extremely popular and they were both created by the same person. Reki Kawahara created the light novels for both series. Therefore, there are many people who can be called fans of Kawahara because they like either one or both of these series.
Due to their common relation, there have been many collaborative events between these two series. The most recent of which was the AW x SAO Offline Meeting 3, which was held on Feb. 17 at the Gotanda Yuboto Hall in Tokyo. Over 3,500 fans gathered to celebrate these highly popular series.
The event also included a mini concert of Aoi Eir (singer of the opening theme to the Fairy Dance Arc of Sword Art Online, “Innocence”) and Luna Haruna (singer of the ending theme to the Fairy Dance Arc of Sword Art Online, “Overfly”). Speaking of which, these two singers will also be performing at this year’s Sakura-Con, which will be held at the end of March in Seattle, Washington, US. For American fans of these singers, this is a chance not to be missed!
