On Jan. 23, 2013, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata gave a video presentation that was packed full of information on new releases of some of Nintendo’s biggest titles. We’ve put together all the pertinent info here, so read on!
First up is Super Smash Bros. The newest installment in this popular series will land on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The contents of the game seem to have undergone a large scale expansion, meaning that the game will take much more time to beat. More information on this game will be unveiled in June at this year’s E3, so look forward to it.
Next up is Mario. This year looks to be a busy year for everyone’s favorite plumber. Nintendo is currently developing a new 3D Mario game for the Wii U as well as a new edition to the Mario Kart series.
Other games currently in the works include a Wii U version of Wii Party, a new installment in the Yoshi series, which is being developed by the team behind Kirby’s Epic Yarn, a new game in the Zelda series, and a remake of Wind Waker.
One work in particular that caught our attention was a collaboration between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem. Shin Megami Tensei is the original work in the Persona series. We wonder how this new game will incorporate both series. At this point, it’s hard to even imagine, but we’re excited anyway.
