“Revolutionary Girl Utena” Exhibit to be Held this March and April

A new exhibit of the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena, which was broadcast in 1997, has been planned for this spring. The anime was directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara, who is known for his recent work on Mawaru Penguindrum. The new exhibit is actually a joint exhibit between Revolutionary Girl Utena and Mawaru Penguindrum. It will be held from March 20-25 at the Seibu Ikebukuro store in Toshima, Tokyo and from April 3-9 at the Hakata Hankyu store in Fukuoka city.

The reason for the exhibits being held may be to celebrate Ikuhara’s 20 years of directing. Ikuhara began his career by directing the 1993 movie Sailor Moon R: The Movie. He is also known for creating his own works which include Utena and Penguindrum. His anime are known for their unique visual style and fashion sense.

The event will also feature a talk discussion and a signing. The entrance fee for the event is 500 yen for general attendees, 300 yen for college and high school students, and free for middle school students and younger. Why not take this opportunity to step into Ikuhara’s unique world?
