In March 2012, the tofu wars heated up with the arrival of the “MS-06 Zaku Tofu”. This new contender had a smooth edamame flavor and showed up in more than one million machines. It was a monumental victory in the tofu war.
However, at the end of last year, Earth was shaken by the appearance of a new threat: Zgok Tofu. This menacing tofu has taken the war to a whole new level, and now, this tofu is fighting in the battleground of nabe (Japanese hot pot dishes).
A contest making use of this newest contender, called “Zgok Nabe Contest”, was held from Nov. 21, 2012 until Jan. 11. Contestants battled it out in an all out war to see who could create the best nabe using Zgok Tofu. Now, the award-winning nabe have been announced.
The official site has information on all of the more than 100 participants in this delightfully tasty looking battle. The nabe presented were ingeniously designed and featured an ACGUY made from shiitake mushrooms, missiles made from thin noodles and garlic, and other delicious looking scenes of pure Zgoku Tofu carnage. The quality is so good, we would feel truly unworthy of eating it...but we still totally would!
If this tasty war is held again, we definitely want to participate! What about you?
