Beginning on July 27, Toyama Light Rail (Toyama Prefecture) will be putting a “Railroad Girls Wrapped Train” into service.
The wrapping design features the 15 railroad girls who are participating in the stamp rally event called “All Japan ‘Railroad Girls’ 2nd Tour” that takes places until Sept. 30. The whole wrapping illustration is drawn by Matsuda98.
The illustration was drawn in the image of “densha gokko” 1. The 15 railroad girls are holding the same rope in their hands, which refers to both “densha gokko” and “every railroad girl in the country is linked together” at the same time. The wrapped train will be running until Sept. 30, the same duration as the stamp rally.
Still more, there are plans for making railroad model products of the wrapped train. These are scheduled to be released in August by Tomytec’s railroad model brand “Railroad Collection” 2 under the name “Railroad Collection Toyama Light Rail Railroad Girls Wrapping Ver. (type A or B).”
^1^ “Densha gokko” is a type of imaginary game played by children in Japan.
^2^ “Railroad Collection” is a 1/150 scale reproduction railway model series.
